Continuous Vibrate Dell Venue Pro 11

Sounds initially that there is an issue with the battery.  Make sure you are using the charger that came with the device!

I would remove the battery, wait 30 seconds then replace.  Plug in the charger and let it sit charging for a 10 minutes to see if it can get enough charge to start.

If nothing happens then try a hard reset to see if that makes a difference.

Hard Reset using buttons:

1. Press and hold the Camera, Volume Down, and Power buttons simultaneously.

2. Release Power when the Phone vibrates, but continue to hold down Camera and Volume Down.

3. Release Camera and Volume Down when the Format prompt is displayed on screen.

If that still does not make a difference then your battery needs to be replaced.

Hi Jack Cook,

It's not come from battery, I think, I met similar case with another battery also. I also tried to charge the phone for about few hours and seem that the battery full even if no charging signal showed. After I unplugged the charger, the phone worked more than a day but the battery icon was shown empty and touch screen did not work. Can not interact with phone.

I suppose that, the software detects empty battery -> it disable touch screen.

For "hard reset", I could not enter to this mode :(. If I continue hold the power button, I could enter bootloader mode, but if I release it, phone continues to boot up normally.

<sorry about my poor eng.>

If you are entering the boot loader then you are doing the hard reset wrong.

I believe that if you hold volume down button and press the power button! and you are in the boot loader mode (although I have never tried that)

In order to hard reset your handset, turn you phone off.

Now hold both volume up and down buttons while pressing the power button. The resulting screen will give you hard reset options.

There are two hard reset option that you can choose from. You can use Volume Up button for the 1st and Volume down for the second option. Press any other key to exit.

This a defect that manifests itself when the battery goes completely dead.  To get it out of this state pull the battery and leave it out, plug the phone in (with no battery), allow it to power up, insert the battery and allow it to charge for at least an hour.  You should then be back to normal.

I have experience with this, this morning when I plug the charger(after few months) then the phone booted up an worked normal but after I leaved it for few hours(charger was plugged), the phone become broken again. Touch screen does not work, the battery icon comes with '?' inside. I think the reason not come from battery cos this morning the phone could worked without battery(only charger was ok) but now, it's not. This is beautiful phone which I don't want to lose it :(

So your device is only a few weeks old and if you are charging with the supplied charger (the one that came in the box) then I would return the device Si Dao for a replacement device.  Something is wrong.

You might want to try with the device plugged in performing a hard reset to see if the issue will clear up before you return it for replacement.

I think I have an answer that may apply. The Micro USB port is loose, well it is on mine. Wiggling it around would get the white light on the device to stay on, meaning it is charging and the battery is good.

I tried re-seating the battery, holding the power button when unplugged and disconnected from the battery for twenty seconds, did so with the battery in and holding the power for twenty seconds with the power adapter unplugged for twenty seconds, and with the Venue 11 Pro plugged in to the provided AC power adapter to micro USB cable.

What I finally noticed, is that wiggling the connector, at the micro USB port, would then result in staying at the white LED, instead of off.

But this is one of the two biggest flaws of a Micro USB connector. The other, is that this standard simply cannot provide enough current for a continuous on device. I need my Venue 11 Pro to be always on, but after a few days would not power on at all even though it is still plugged in as I left it, and I haven't moved or disturbed the device, meaning it should still be charging and providing power. No it does not, the computing power simply drains the battery and whatever current is provided to the device, meaning I have to fickle with the device to once again get it to charge to reasonable levels to use again.

So to those who still want Micro USB standards as power source, think again. Maybe good for phones that sit there for not too long and would be constantly plugged in and charging, and for the computer power demands, not require much current pull, but something like a Tablet PC, I think not.

I hope this helps.

It doesn't. This a section for PHONES. You're talking about a completely different device.
